On this issue of women priests: the Catholic Church is against it for the reason that women tend to be petty, gossiping, back-stabbing airheads. It is assumed that if there was a woman priest, the women in the pews would be more pre-occupied with the appearance of the woman priest than what the female priest is saying. This is undeniable and as an example, take Lyme activism. The activists are mostly women, but due to the petty, backstabbing idiocy, we can't work together. For example, Pat Smith of the Lymediseaseassociation.org has a stated purpose of destroying Karen Forschner of the Lyme Disease Foundation (Lyme.org) and she has been pretty much successful at it. Pat Smith's legions did the opposite of whatever Action Item I proposed for the group, ActionLyme. ILADS.org on whose board Pat Smith sat for years (despite not being any kind of a scientist) has not published a scientific article since I wrote their essence of their Klempner rebuttal (including the scientific evidence, the data, which showed Dearborn was a scientific hoax) in 2001. The likes of Pat Smith and her pinheads is the exact reason the Catholic Church will not allow women priests. It is in the nature of most women to be pinheaded, opinionated, and most of all jealous idiots.
Not me, of course. I have reversed brain hemisphere dominance; "very superior" visual-spatial abilities, which I claim to some degree comes from a desire to know HOW STUFF WORKS, as opposed to what color nail polish to wear, and even more obvious, how popular I am. If I give all this scanned-in scientific information away free, it's obviously not ALL ABOUT MEEee. If it was ALL ABOUT MEEeee, I would write a book and charge people 25 dollars for the same information. On the other hand, if I was ALL ABOUT MEEeee, I would not be smart enough to write the right book, since wisdom comes to the charitable. Wisdom comes to the un-vain and un-greedy and un-cowardly. You can't be smart and selfish at the same time. (The Neocons, psychiatrists, and lawyers are good other examples.)
Nevertheless, Catholics in America are making a fuss about priest sexuality and women priests, unawares, are they, that doctrinally, and logically, women would be a distraction from theological endeavors. It is not that any single woman is incapable of the theology, I am saying WOMEN, the group, would be a disruption because the rest of the non-priest females would be, well, jerks about it. It's pretty true. I would have to agree based on my own life's experience. Women are pretty tough on each other. Men are not so tough on each other.
