AMIRAM KATZ, M.D.

 

Dr. Katz is from Southport, CT and is a board certified Neurologist. He

graduated from Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv, Israel, in 1976.

During this time he came to the U.S. to do an extern in Medicine at Bellevue Hospital, NY.  

From 1976 to 1986 Dr. Katz served in various positions in Israeli hospitals and received a Specialists Certificate in Neurology, served as Chief of Neurology, and was Commanding Officer and Director of the Israeli Naval Hyperbaric Institute and Motion Sickness Research Center. In '87-'88 he did a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Cleveland Clinic.  

From 1988-91 Dr. Katz did a fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine in Clinical Epilepsy.  During that time as an Associate Research Scientist at Yale, he published and presented many papers in the field of epilepsy. He has organized numerous conferences and educational events in the fields of Epilepsy, Lyme disease, and Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine. Dr. Katz is a reviewer for the journals Neurology and Epilepsia. He has compiled over 80 publications, abstracts, and chapters; and has received multiple awards in his fields of expertise.

Dr. Katz maintains membership in multiple state and national medical

associations.

 

Dr. Katz currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of

Neurology at Yale University and is a consultant at the Yale Psychiatric

Institute. He also holds the positions of Associate Director of the Sleep Disorders Center and over sees the Telemedicine Center at Norwalk Hospital.

 

In the spring of 2002, Dr. Katz opened his neurology practice in

Southport on the premises of the Health Extenders, where he heads the Lyme Disease Treatment Center.
